I discovered my love for teaching while helping my friends in college with subjects we were taking together. I would explain concepts to them they didn't understand and it was very rewarding when their grades improved because of that. I received special math awards in high school and have done very well so far in my Mechanical Engineering major at Virginia Tech. (read more)
...I'm a visual learner, so a critical component of my teaching style is creating a visual demonstration. I work hard to prepare these before sessions so that we can maximize our time together. I got 5's on all my STEM AP's, a 36 on the ACT, 1570 on the SAT, and have a 4.0 GPA as an applied physics undergraduate. (read more)

I have an M.A. in Jewish Studies from the Rothberg International School of Hebrew University, and a B.A. in Russian Literature from Reed College. I am also a returned Peace Corps Volunteer, who lived for several years in West Africa.
