...Chemistry is definitely my favorite subject. People struggle with fundamental concept because in most cases they seemed abstract, but there are actually not that abstract once explained well. I have tutored both high school and college level students, was teaching assistant for 3.5 years and worked one on one in academic enrichment center. (read more)
I enjoy working with individual students and helping them with material that can sometimes seem less than exciting. The best reward is seeing the 'aha' moment when they understand the logic behind the material, rather than just memorizing steps. As a graduate student, I was awarded a 'teaching fellowship' for teaching excellence. (read more)
...At Ohio State, I was a teaching assistant for a computer science software course for 3 years and a data structures and algorithms course for 2 years. During this time, I attended labs with the students and helped answer questions as they solved problems. I held office hours twice a week, which served as open tutoring times for students to come ask questions on homework or projects. (read more)
