...To make it easier I turn the concepts into stories. Learning about ion channels is a disco club story, learning abut heart and lung is a swimming story, and so on. I will help you find a way to remember and most importantly connect different concepts. (read more)
I enjoy working with individual students and helping them with material that can sometimes seem less than exciting. The best reward is seeing the 'aha' moment when they understand the logic behind the material, rather than just memorizing steps. As a graduate student, I was awarded a 'teaching fellowship' for teaching excellence. (read more)
...Statistics, to me, is all about translating numbers into understandable concepts for people who don't necessarily enjoy mathematics. This means it's very close to tutoring. Seeing someone learn and understand a concept in math is extremely rewarding to me. (read more)
