...I’ve been a tutor for about 15 years and have helped 50+ students in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, precalculus, calculus, chemistry, and physics. Some have been shorter engagements while others have evolved into multi-year ongoing support through high school and early college. My main goal is to help the student build confidence and to succeed. (read more)
...In order to simplify the resulting complex statistics, I reduced the problem to a graph for which I developed a kinetic model. I simulated kinetics on the graph and solved the eigenvalue problem associated with a matrix chosen to approximate the graph. To this day, I reduce high dimensional problems to low dimensional ones to provide solutions for real-world problems. (read more)
...I also know quite a bit about how to speed up MATLAB programs by taking advantage of the profiling tools and also by writing MEX files in C. I do GUI development also, using either GUIDE or App Designer. I have particularly extensive experience with the Image Processing Toolbox, and with optimization. (read more)
...No matter what you do, you are likely using some form of math---arithmetic, calculus, and logic are all more or less essential skills in the modern world. I am at the tail end of a mathematics PhD at Boston College where I have developed new tools and perspectives at the cutting edge of research... (read more)
...I've tutored the subject previously. I was part of the biotechnology process engineering center at MIT. I've tutored number theory since 2001. (read more)
