...I had multiple tutoring jobs throughout high school, and I did peer tutoring with my classmates. I received A's or above in all relevant classes, and I received a 750 on the Math section of the SAT. I am currently studying to receive my Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, so I am constantly taking math and problem solving courses that keep me familiar with all of the subjects I tutor. ...I prefer when the student has some sort of workbook or guide that they would like to cover, but this is not required. Based upon the subject matter, we can develop a program that can meet on a regular basis (weekly, etc.) or in "chunks" to cover specific parts of the subject. In my spare time, I enjoy playing the saxophone and keeping up with developments in the scientific community. (read more)
...I have a teaching experience of more than 8 years in math to students of various grades (K-12th). I have also tutored students preparing for SAT/ACT, GRE, SSAT etc and have had great results. Many of my students have increased their scores by more than 40% in their exams. I believe that solving a problem isn't the only goal but understanding the concept behind that is very important.
