Margaret L. ...I use as many 'hands on' manipulatives to introduce concepts because it's fun (and who doesn't like fun?) and it makes it easier to 'see' what's really going on. I am firm believer in 'it's not WHAT you present, it's HOW you present it', and the more creative & interesting, the better! For the past 2 years, I lead the STAAR Math Tutorial Series at a local Junior High.
