...I also have years of experience tutoring students in high school level math classes, including geometry, with all of its proofs, theorems, angles, shapes, and lines. I understand that some students struggle with it, mainly since it seems kind of out of place compared to other math classes. ...It's not the difficulty of the section that gives students trouble, however; it's the way the questions are asked. The ACT loves to wrap up simple ideas in rarefied verbiage, masking basic grammatical concepts in complicated sentence structure and dirty tricks. Fortunately, I know how the test works, and I've helped many students increase their ACT English score by 2 points or greater. (read more)
