...I graduated magna cum laude in Biochemistry and Statistics at the University of Iowa and earned my PhD in Biostatistics at the University of Washington. In school, I recognized that I would not get far just memorizing facts in my courses. ...I use the Socratic method a lot, asking the student questions and building on the response. I did some Skin diving from 1966 to 1975, and back packing from 1969 to 1975, mostly in the Olympics. I've also done some sailing, both cruising and racing. (read more)
