I say all of this to say that I know my algebra concepts very well because I really had to build on them in order to pass calculus. I have also taken AP Calculus AB in high school and passed the test with a 4, one short of the highest score, which is a 5.

Ralph K. ...So many students who have problems with higher level math are hamstrung by the fact that they cannot do pre-algebra. With a shaky foundation, it is impossible to build a sturdy house. I have taught many students to rely on themselves and only use a calculator for problems where it is necessary.
