In the capacity as a substitute, the biggest challenge was engaging the students as their regular teacher was not present. Obviously, my teaching approach differed from that of their teacher so I had to be inventive in getting them to participate.

I continued these studies in medical school, where it was applied in the clinical setting and psychiatry. During medical school, I was a gross anatomy and neuroanatomy teaching assistant.

Sue W. ...Elementary math involves adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing. Reading is my favorite subject...I help students develop comprehension skills and vocabulary. Other strategies involve predicting, decoding using phonics, evaluating what they have read and summarizing, and visualizing and synthesizing material.
