...Geometry made mathematics sensible to my brain. The realization that the confusing symbol-jungles in algebra actually 'mean' something in terms of pictures freed me from what had been (upto the time I was in middle-school) an increasingly arduous chore : learning Math, and transformed Math into something that I actually had fun doing.
