...I have a certificate for teaching reading from Penn State, and I have been tutoring in reading and other subjects for many years. In addition, I take reading courses at both Marywood University in Scranton, Pa., and courses at our local Intermediate Unit. ...Vocabulary is often how professionals will gauge any prospective employee during the initial interview. When it comes to reading, what catches a lot of people off guard is their lack of vocabulary. When a word does not make sense or is not familiar to them, they should look it up instead of jumping over it. (read more)
