Purplemath Lessons on CD

Downloading the lessons, Shipping the lessons disc to USA addresses, Shipping the lessons disc to international addresses

The Purplemath algebra lessons are available in offline form for home use! This allows you to, for instance, review the lessons on your laptop while you ride the bus, or let your grandkids "surf" the site without having to provide them with a "live" Internet connection.

The "Purplemath CD" contains the entire Purplemath web site, modified for offline viewing. These modifications include such things as deletion of certain scripts and other "live" elements. Since the files for a web site are just HTML and web-viewable graphics, any computer (Linux, Windows, Mac, etc) on which you can view this site "live" can also view the offline version.

The processor will accept your PayPal or credit-card payment of US$12 and will then provide you with the secure download.

Once you have downloaded the file (which is a zipped archive, about 10 megabytes in size), "unzip" the archived folder. (That is, double-click on the "zip" file, and follow the instructions provided by your unzip utility.) You can then access the offline version of the site by clicking on the "index.htm" file within the folder. You may also copy the folder onto a CD for transfer, say, to your laptop.

Having trouble with the downloaded file? It's a "zipped" (compressed) "archive" (collection of files). If your computer does not have an unzip untility (such as WinZip), try installing a freeware package. For instance, go to TUCOWS, click on "Freeware", and pick one of the listed options. I've had good luck with Big Speed Zipper. Once you have an unzipper installed, you can de-compress the archive and start surfing! Either first read the README file, or else go straight to the "index.htm" file.

CDs are usually shipped within two or three business days. Shipments within in the United States are made via first-class mail from Illinois. (For shipping purposes, APO and FPO addresses are considered to be "domestic".) No refunds on opened software.

Get the Purplemath Lessons CD
via International Mail: $23

To receive a physical disc at an address outside the US, please use the direct link at the right.

Shipping addresses outside the USPS system require an additional US$3 for international shipping, for a total of US$23. Packages to international addresses will be shipped via First Class Mail International (FCMI) from the midwestern United States. The customs declaration form will list the item as being "1 CD" containing "electronic algebra lessons" having a valuation of "US$12". The United States Postal Service does not provide information to us regarding expected shipment times for FCMI packages, but feedback suggests three weeks is usually sufficient. No refunds on opened software.

Delivery times, both domestic and foreign, will vary depending upon your location and other conditions. If you need faster delivery, please investigate the shipping option(s) you prefer, using "60074" as the post-code of origin, and include the additional shipping amount in your payment.

If you would prefer to make your payment through the mails, rather than electronically, then please send cheque or money-order to the following address:

    Elizabeth Stapel
    P.O. Box 493
    Addison, IL 60101-0493

Please make your cheque payable to "Elizabeth Stapel", in US currency. If you would like to receive e-mail notification of receipt of your mailed donation, please include your e-mail address within your letter. Since mailed funds do not "clear" immediately, an additional two weeks should be added to the usual expected delivery time.
