...They don’t see any practical purpose in what they are learning. Part of it is how the curriculum is taught; some of it has do with understanding this generation’s student culture. Therefore, I prefer to engage the student in the subject, by explaining the relevance and importance in future life, making it entertaining while not sacrificing content. (read more)
...Throughout elementary and middle school, I competed in math competitions. In high school, I received an 800 in the SAT math section, an 800 in the SAT Subject Test for math, and a 36 in the ACT math section. I have continued taking math courses in college (including calculus, statistics, deductive logic, and discrete mathematics). I also received a 170 in the quantitative section of the GRE. (read more)
