...I've taught and tutored ACT prep to about 150 students. The good news is that it's not as tricky as the SAT; expect ACT math questions to be relatively direct. It's true that the Math section does have a few questions on advanced topics (but NO calculus). However, most of the difficult questions aren't hard because you haven't reached that math class yet. ...The way I have advanced and polished this trait and the techniques I use over the last four years of college as a tutor working for both the university as well as privately. I like to ask my students questions to see how much and what they know before diving into problems. When we do problems, I like to work a few out with a student and explain what I'm doing in each step and why. (read more)
