I was a double major at the University of Texas at Austin in pure math and physics and got my PhD in physics at the University of Florida. I have over 10 years of experience teaching physics and math. I enjoy helping students develop an intuitive understanding of both math and physics. (read more)
...As a statistician I really enjoy working with different data sets and teaching how to apply these data sets to real-world examples. The famous statistician John Tukey said, " The best thing about being a statistician is that you get to play in everyone's backyard". Currently, I am a math and statistics instructor at a community college. (read more)
As a graduate student at UPenn’s Chemistry Department, I won Teaching and Academic Awards and graduated in 1997 with a Ph.D. top of the class. My MS in Theoretical Physics I received from TSU (Tbilisi State University, Georgia, former USSR) where I graduated with honors in 1976. My undergraduate research in Special Relativity won awards and was subsequently published. (read more)
...As an added bonus, my students practice using Spreadsheets to calculate Riemann Sums and Derivatives. As a Physical Science tutor, I used Trigonometry in order to demonstrate principles of Physics (Vector components and Dot products).
As a former Substitute 7th and 8th Grade Math Teacher (Apr... (read more)
...I have always prioritized theoretical aspects of computer science in my curriculum which allowed me to hone my expertise in discrete math, particularly in the domains of probability theory and graph theory. I took graduate level courses in randomized algorithms, theory of computation and formal ... (read more)
