...Vocabulary acquisition is also a prerequisite as is reading, students need to read to acquire ideas and they must have a firm grasp of grammar in order to express their ideas. ...I have had outstanding math teachers before that don't just tell me the formulas, they explain it to me, showing me how it works and where it comes from. Math isn't supposed to be about memorizing formulas, it's about understanding questions and how to answer those questions. That is the type of math that I want to teach. (read more)
