...I was also the first alternate in the Southeast Trombone Symposium's Excerpts Competition in 2021, and I performed with the Honor Band of America in 2016. It all started with me being very poor at algebra in high school. I struggled a lot, till I got an excellent tutor who kept using different approaches to get the information across till we found the right one. I ended up loving my arch nemesis (math) so much that I went on to get a 730 out of 800 in my SAT math and I've used the same approaches taught to me to help struggling students. (read more)
