...I believe being a student myself has helped me understand students I have taught much better than the professors/teachers who were students a long time ago. When I work with students, I want to help them to lose their fear of math and science and start to understand the underlying concepts until they can solve problems, not through ineffective rote memorization but from a foundation of understanding.
