...These tend to juxtapose the more perceptible concepts seen in geometry and algebra classes. I find this sudden shift is at the root of why calculus has a tendency to trip students up, especially those in high school. To counter this, I like to consider concrete examples and analogies to the more abstract problem. (read more)
