I teach students techniques to check their work: both by "sanity checks" as in "Does this answer make sense?" and also by reversing the process or calculation. You test an addition problem by subtraction, you test an integration by differentiation, etc. (read more)

...Though I believe that only assiduous reading can produce real readers of classical Latin, I also believe, as a tutor, in meeting students where they are at and in helping them achieve the goals they have set for themselves. Not everyone is studying Latin to read Latin. Some students just want to pass their class or improve their understanding of English grammar. (read more)
...I passed the California State Bar Exam (July 2001 administration) and the New York State Bar Exam (February 2006 administration), both on the first try. I have been helping students prepare for standardized tests since during my college years at MIT.
