Outside of professional positions, I have volunteered to lead students through scouting programs and church programs. ...I think it's incredibly important and empowering to give students the tools to think critically and express their thoughts on paper. I'm a trained counselor so I see myself as a warm, trustworthy presence and I love giving students the tools and support to figure out how to understand a concept in a way that makes sense for them. Also graduating with a degree in sports management has helped me in this area as well. Also, while earning my Elementary Education degree, I was enrolled in numerous courses centered around reading.
