Tim D. ...Every teacher can have success with a learner in one tutoring session, but can every tutor teach in a way that lasts beyond the tutoring session? I offer tutoring services that adapt to the needs of each student so that learning can continue beyond the session. Some students need visuals, others something tactile, and others something else entirely.

It is imperative that students understand the dynamics of writing papers, paragraphs, and sentences, and therefore I put a heavy emphasis on grammar. Once a student knows why a particular way of phrasing an idea is incorrect, they will be able to identify such processes for themselves.

Robert L. ...While I have mostly taught all levels of calculus and statistics, I can also teach college algebra and pre-calculus as well as contemporary math. My background is in engineering and business, so I use an applied math approach to teaching. I find knowing why the math is important goes a long way towards helping students retain information.
