Robert R. ...I tried to describe various ways to find the solution all of which have algebraic foundations, because, sometimes the process is more important than the answer. If the student can find the pattern and identify it with a method then he/she will be successful in solving the problem. That requires the student to look at the problem in a way that makes more sense to him/her.
