...I have taught Pre-Calculus as well as International Baccalaureate (IB) Higher and Standard Level Mathematics for 10 years. The IB courses have the same Pre-Calculus content as an Honors Level Trigonometry course. I have taught Calculus for the past 8 years so I know the importance of Pre-Calculus concepts. (read more)
...I retired from developmental optometry in 2011 and I started tutoring shortly thereafter. When my student asks, "Why is trigonometry important?" I can answer that trigonometry is used to calculate the path of a light ray as it is refracted. Trigonometry explains why the bottom of a swimming pool appears closer than it really is. (read more)
