...I check the student's core math skills and understanding of basic definitions (variable, exponent, quadratic, etc.) with multiple illustrations and examples. I discourage overreliance on calculators because there are tests where calculators aren't permitted. I try to get a copy of the textbook so I know what approach the teacher is taking. (read more)
