...After a few years, I wanted to do something different, so I joined the Army as a Mathematician/Statistician, but most of the work that I did was writing programs in FORTRAN and Basic. I became an officer and went on to learn COBOL and some database theory. I ended up doing more management than computer work, but I always kept my hand in helping others with their programming.
