...Since everyone who has taken Calc knows Algebra, this approach tends to give them a lot more confidence in their abilities. When I teach Calculus I focus on showing students the most efficient way of tackling seemingly impossible problems with just a little bit of strategic algebraic manipulation. I am interested in tutoring because I am sure the experience of tutoring will add to where already acquired as a teacher dealing with diverse students.
