I also have a list of resources I share with students to continue to prepare for the SAT on their own. ...I think it's incredibly important and empowering to give students the tools to think critically and express their thoughts on paper. I'm a trained counselor so I see myself as a warm, trustworthy presence and I love giving students the tools and support to figure out how to understand a concept in a way that makes sense for them. ...They practice brainstorming, outlining, drafting, and self-editing skills. We also focus on writing mechanics, where I guide them through correct grammar usage, sentence structure, punctuation, word usage, and transitions. I walk students through the writing process, one step at a step, and correct or clarify any missteps as needed. (read more)
...I prefer to have a flexible tutor plan depending on the student's needs. I lean towards creating a lesson plan involving practice problems and extra supporting material. But, I am open to anything a student wants to try out! (read more)
