I have been a teaching assistant for Human Systems Physiology, an undergraduate, upper-division biology course at UT Austin. I have taught ~1400 students in my 4 semesters of teaching and have received recognition from the school as an 'outstanding biology TA'. The focus here was on teaching students how to approach their course material in an organized fashion that made sense to them individually and based on the subject matter. ...Math can be fun and easy to understand, all it takes is some patience and creativity to learn. I have formally taught biology for 2.5 years and I have spent many hours tutoring kids after school. Biology can be difficult to comprehend if the material is taught incorrectly, but when taught in a fun and light-hearted way, it can be very interesting and an easy subject. (read more)
