I just completed my graduate work at Columbia University, and I'm starting my Ph.D. in the fall. I have been tutoring math for the past six months in prealgebra, algebra I, geometry, algebra II, and precalculus. ...I became a teacher because I love being a part of the "lightbulb moment," when all the student's hard work pays off and they "get it."
As a student, despite loving math today, I struggled with the subject. I know what it is to have to work hard to get it. I also know that every student has a different way of best understanding a concept. (read more)
