...Direct instruction is necessary at times, but from my experience I find that students get the most out of sessions when it is more of a discussion rather than a lecture. I also don’t complete assignments for students—though I am always willing to help students on individual questions when appropriate. Accomplishments:

...One thing I do try to be consistent about is allowing students to do as much as they can with what they know already, and then providing support or instruction when it is needed. I find this helps students to remember knowledge or skills later on exams or in-class assignments. I am very person focused. (read more)
