I went through the University of Pittsburgh as a chemical engineering major. After completing a masters degree in chemical engineering at Carnegie Mellon University and an MBA at the University of Pittsburgh, I decided to pursue a teaching certificate. ...I feel that I have a strong intuitive understanding of calculus, which I try to impart to my students, so that it is not all about memorizing formulas and techniques. I love geometry because of its visual elements, and how it requires you to think in completely different ways. It seems as if every student does either a lot better or a lot in geometry than in other math classes. (read more)
