...I prefer a logic based approach rather than force rote memorization. To me patience and communication are the most important parts of teaching. I find that the most effective way to teach is to listen to the students and learn from them, and then build upon their knowledge using familiar methods they are more likely to understand. ...My tutoring experience goes as far back as high school when I would tutor a few of my classmates and community college students in algebra and geometry. In college, I facilitated both a Calculus I and Calculus III workshop for the LSAMP program on SDSU campus.
