...My Ph.D. dissertation research involved simulating large networks of "virtual" neurons and synapses. I coded numerical models of neurons and synapses in order to perform experiments on these neural networks. In order to do design the simulations efficiently, I used an object-oriented approach in C++. The simulations generated vast amounts of data which I analyzed using MATLAB scripts. (read more)
