...Exponentiation is repeated multiplication: 2^3 = 2 x 2 x 2
= (2 x 2) x 2 = 4 x 2 = 4 + 4 = 8. Root is reverse exponentiation: square root(16) = 4 because 4^2 = 16, or 4 x 4 = 16. Rest is memorizing priority of operations (operator precedence).
