I got a BS in Mathematics from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology in 1991. After teaching high school for three years in El Paso, Texas, and teaching middle school math in Belen, New Mexico, I returned to New Mexico Tech to obtain my Master's Degree in Mathematics. ...In teaching chemistry, which many students find difficult because it is hard to visualize, I try to explain concepts when necessary with "real-world" counterparts. An oxygen molecule is composed of two oxygen atoms and 16 electrons, but it could be visualized as a couple of baseballs attached by two springs. I also love mathematics! (read more)
