...I myself have taken the SAT math test multiple times, and first scored high as a sixth grade student. I know of resources that will be used during the tutoring sessions to help a student, but can also give them new ways to study on their own for these tests. ...When I tutored high school students, we focused on the real application first, then the math, such as throwing a ball, and then talking about algebra and geometry, or why a roof should be a triangle or a rectangle, and then learn about geometry. As the math get more complex, the examples get more realistic! I find that this method makes the concepts intuitive. (read more)
