I've been tutoring dyslexic students in the Kingston/Woodstock area for over 7 years. I use the Barton System for Reading and Spelling, an Orton-Gillingham-based program, with great success. In addition, my master's degree in linguistics and many years of teaching English as a Second Language and English Composition qualify me to tutor in all aspects of ESL and English language arts. ...When I was still in high school, one of the teachers there invited me to participate in an after school tutoring program for middle schoolers. I helped the middle school students with their homework, and aided them in studying for any upcoming tests. Helping them allowed me to learn different teaching techniques, as each student learns differently. (read more)
