...The student acquires confidence and ease with the language as his/her facility increases. Many American students of the Romance languages find their studies difficult because they were never taught proper English grammar. Concepts such as object pronouns and the subjunctive (congiuntivo in Italian) are, well, foreign to them, and I am sensitive to these issues.
