Unfortunately, its usefulness doesn't become evident until much later when these concepts are applied in the sciences or business world. Writing a good paper (or a good anything for that matter) is not difficult (I have written A+ papers in a matter of hours), however it does require discipline and understanding of the prompt. I have been writing A+ papers for a long time.

Cynthia C. ...A key component in understanding math is to know and use math vocabulary. to be able to read a math book, and to be able to follow the examples. I then work to develop a student's capability to stand alone and process through a problem. For the light bulb to come on for a student thrills me to this day past retirement.
