While English is my specialty, I have taught middle school science and tutored arithmetic, algebra, science, history, and test-taking skills.As a peer tutor in middle and high school, algebra was what most students needed help with. I find algebra incredibly fun; it is like a puzzle just asking to be solved.

The way I like to teach science is to do it using projects made from everyday materials and by acting things out to illustrate scientific concepts.

Frank B. ...Calculators are great for some problems, like say 23.98342 x .00498, or for graphing multiple equations or data analysis in statistics. They were not designed for everything, though. For instance every student should be able to compute 12 x 40 by hand.
