I find that the students who benefit the most are those students with materials at hand and clear goals for their session(s). I expect a student to have notes and examples of the instructor's preferred methods, as applicable.

He was a MathCounts national finalist and he qualified for USAMO (United States of America Mathematical Olympiad). Both are national level Math competitions and only about 200-300 students qualified in US.
