Bosko C. ...Derivative is defined as limiting value of the ratio of the change in function to the corresponding change in its independent variable. Integral is defined as reverse function of derivative. Exponential Function e^x is very interesting since (e^x)'=e^x and int(e^x)=e^x as well.
