Jason H. ...A compiler will pad structs/classes to make them faster to move around memory internally, but this can sometimes effect the length of a structure such that when sending the data across the socket, there will be dead space. Padding can be turned off to prevent this. I've developed in C extensively in my 12 year programming career.
