So, i have been basically failing, because my teacher doesnt like explaining.

What do i do if an equation has the same variable, but on each side of the equal sign?
like: 3(2x-1)-3(x-2) = x + 5.
What are all the steps?

Once you've studied the lessons, so you've replaced the material not provided in class, please attempt the exercise. The first step will be to multiply out the parentheses, and then combine the "like" terms, to get:

Then subtract the to the left, subtract the to the right, etc, etc.
