I'm investigating the transformations of three functions I have selected:
By using different values of a, I want to see what happens when I apply the following to each of the three functions:
a * f(x)
I want to use different values of a so I can come to some definite conclusions - I'll use positive, negative, small and large values of a.
I do not understand what I need to do to apply these transformations. In transformation number 2 [f(a*x)], what is the f outside of the brackets and I assume the a is multiplying the rest of the function?
Any guidance will be much appreciated. I hope this post made sense.
