We have been give the equation of the line where the point (3,2) lies and we have to find the point on that line which is 5 units away from (3,2)? The equation of the line is 4y -3x+1=0.

Solve 4y - 3x + 1 = 0 for y. Plug the point (3, 2) and the point (x, y) into The Distance Formula (using the expression for y that you got when you solved). Put the distance equal to 5. Square both sides and solve for the x coordinates of the two points on the line. Then plug back into the expression for y to find the y coordinates for each of the two points. This is your answer.
