Age word problem: Ann is 5 yrs older than Mary.

Hello

I have a question, Ann is 5 years older than Mary.If the sum of their ages is 51, find the age of each.
I am unsure on how to put it into an equation.

you can see how to do this here. i'd start with "mary: m, ann: m+5".
