simplify -7+6i/9+6i into a+bi form

I am to simplify the following quotient number into a+bi form.

-7+6i/9+6i

What I figured out is that 6i/6i equal 1 so I came up with -7/9+1i since -7/9 cannot be reduced any further. Is this correct?

No! For example, 20/10 = (15+5)/(5+5). By your reasoning, since 5/5 = 1 and 15/5 = 3, then 20/10 must equal 4!
